Killing Eve star Fiona Shaw has been announced as a new patron of Irish Film London (IFL), joining in the year of the organisation's tenth anniversary.
The IFL has been championing Irish film and TV via annual festivals in London for almost a decade, and had to take its St Patrick’s Film Festival online this year due to Covid-19. The new online film portal features an exclusive podcast and interview with Shaw, and the Cork born actress commented 'Ireland is having a moment. It is leapfrogging from being a struggling country to being an empowered country.... I’m very proud to be part of something that got this foothold in this vast metropolis. It is not just an Irish film festival; it is an Irish film festival in London'.
